SPOSCOR Core is live in the WordPress.org plugin directory. Search for “SPOSCOR” under Plugins → Add New in your admin and you can install it right away.
It’s free, and there’s no cap on how many matches you create.
What Core does on its own
Activate it and Generic Match is there. No configuration step.
It handles any sport where two sides score across periods — futsal, volleyball, handball, dodgeball, a school sports day. Period labels are neutral rather than sport-specific, so most competitions fit without adjustment.
Three steps: create a match, type the scores, paste one shortcode into a page. That’s the whole thing.
- Period-by-period scores (two by default, extendable for extra time)
- Team name and abbreviation, with an automatic monogram
- Match status — scheduled, live, final, postponed, cancelled
- Two shortcodes: full scorecard and compact result
Both shortcodes can appear multiple times on the same page, which is how most people publish a day’s results.
It won’t fight your theme
Front-end styles are output inline rather than through a stylesheet. Your theme’s CSS won’t break the scoreboard, and the scoreboard won’t break your theme.
Accessibility follows WCAG 2.1 AA. Colour is never the only thing carrying meaning.
About the sport plugins
Core’s admin screens are deliberately small. Sport-specific features are coming as separate plugins.
Soccer, basketball, and baseball are in preparation, and we’ll be submitting them to WordPress.org in turn. Each sport plugin adds input screens built around that sport, along with tournaments — standings tables and brackets — and detailed design options.
All optional. Core runs on its own, and nothing about it requires a sport plugin.

That last one is why this plugin exists.
Translations
English is the source language, and every string uses the standard WordPress translation functions. Translation happens through WordPress.org’s platform at translate.wordpress.org.
Japanese and Spanish are being uploaded there now.
